PARTICIPANT FEEDBACK

From the People Who Attended

SP

Siriporn Phromchai

Chiang Mai · Memory & Records Workshop

"I had been meaning to sort through my father's papers for almost two years. I could not work out where to start. After the workshop, I had a checklist and a clear structure — and the week after, I actually did it. The template is really practical, not just a theoretical exercise."

Robert Hendry

British expat, Chiang Mai · Keepsake Membership

"As an expat with documents scattered across three countries, I found the membership genuinely useful. The templates are adapted to Thailand, which matters — you can't just use a generic checklist from the UK. Monthly sessions are calm and well-paced. I would have given five stars but a couple of sessions were quite short."

Wanida Kamchai

Lamphun · Open Conversation Session

"Our family had been avoiding certain conversations for a long time. We booked a private session and it gave us a safe place to begin. The conversation cards were the best part — they made it feel less serious without making the topic seem unimportant. I think we got further in two hours than we would have alone."

Thanaporn Narongrit

Chiang Mai · Memory & Records Workshop

"My mother came with me. She was a little nervous beforehand but the facilitator made her feel completely at ease from the start. We are both now using the Keepsake template at home. Very worthwhile morning."

Marie Dubois

French expat, Chiang Mai · Open Conversation Session

"I appreciate that Estora does not try to be something it is not. They are very clear: this is educational, not professional advice. That honesty is actually what made me trust them. The group format worked well for me — it helped to hear that other families face the same hesitations."

Channarong Prachuabmoh

Chiang Mai · Keepsake Membership (6 months)

"Six months in and I am still finding value in the membership. The community sessions are well-moderated and the topics are consistently relevant. I originally joined to get the template library and stayed for the monthly sessions. Good value for what it offers."

FAMILY JOURNEYS

Some Longer Stories

These accounts, shared with participants' permission, give a fuller sense of how Estora sessions tend to unfold.

FAMILY CASE STUDY · MEMORY & RECORDS

A Retired Teacher and Her Adult Children

CHALLENGE

A Chiang Mai family — three adult siblings and their elderly mother — had a box of mixed documents that nobody could fully make sense of. Deeds, insurance papers, photographs, and medical records were all filed together. After their father passed, they realised they could not find several key documents.

HOW ESTORA HELPED

All four attended a Memory & Records Workshop together. Using the Document Checklist, they identified which document types they had, which were missing, and which needed to be renewed. The Keepsake Template gave them a shared reference point that each family member could access.

OUTCOME

Within three weeks of the workshop, the family had organised all existing documents and identified what they still needed. The mother later said it was the first time in years she had felt her affairs were in order. One sibling subsequently joined the Keepsake Membership for ongoing support.

"For my mother especially, it was not just about the documents. It was the feeling that we had done something together and it was now done."

FAMILY CASE STUDY · OPEN CONVERSATION SESSION

A Cross-Cultural Couple in Their Sixties

CHALLENGE

A Thai-Australian couple living in Pa Daet had very different cultural assumptions about how end-of-life wishes should be discussed — or whether they should be discussed at all. Neither had raised the topic directly. Their adult daughter, living in Bangkok, had asked them to consider organising things more clearly.

HOW ESTORA HELPED

The couple booked a private Open Conversation Session, with their daughter joining by video. The facilitator acknowledged the cultural differences openly and used conversation cards that allowed each person to share without anyone feeling pressured. No decisions were made during the session — but a foundation was laid.

OUTCOME

The family held two further conversations at home over the following month, using the Estora guide. They described the session as having "broken the seal" — they now talk about the subject naturally, without the anxiety that previously surrounded it.

"I don't think we would have found a way to start this conversation on our own. The session did not tell us what to do — it just made it easier to talk."

FAMILY CASE STUDY · KEEPSAKE MEMBERSHIP

A Single Parent Planning Ahead

CHALLENGE

A single mother in her forties with two school-age children wanted to get her affairs in order — not because anything was wrong, but because she felt the responsibility acutely. She had no extended family nearby and no one to consult informally.

HOW ESTORA HELPED

She joined the Keepsake Membership after attending a single Memory & Records Workshop. The membership gave her ongoing access to resources relevant to her situation, and the community sessions helped her feel less alone in thinking about these topics. Over twelve months she worked through the full template library at her own pace.

OUTCOME

At the end of her first membership year, she described feeling "prepared rather than worried" — a distinction she considered significant. She renewed for a second year and has since recommended Estora to three colleagues.

"It is not that I now have everything sorted. It is that I know where everything is, and I know what I still need to think about. That is more than I had before."
